PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The former deputy manager of Angel Taveras' 2010 successful campaign to become mayor of Providence is signalling that he is "seriously exploring" a run for that same office next time should the mayor decide to run for governor.
Victor Capellan has set up a Friends of Victor Capellan web site, offering visitors an opportunity send him e-mails and to make donations.
The founder and and former two-time national president of the Dominican American National Roundtable, Capellan is also the deputy superintendent of transformation for Central Falls High School. He unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the General Assembly's House of Representatives in 1996 and 1998, losing the races by 13 votes and 20 votes respectively.
