PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- The man in the New York Yankees cap held a robbery note in his hand -- but it did him no good Tuesday morning, when the teller at a Bank of America walked away and ignored him.
The would-be robber appeared baffled in the surveillance photo snapped at 11:34 a.m. at the bank at 1455 Newport Ave. The teller had stepped away per bank procedure, according to the Pawtucket police.
The man left empty-handed, getting into a black SUV with Massachusetts license plates, according to the police. He is described as about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, stocky, and wearing black glasses.
