Deepwater Wind has agreed to pay a nearly $700,000 fee to state regulators for its application to build a wind farm in waters near Block Island.
In a letter dated March 25, the Providence-based firm said it would comply with the decision made earlier this month by a subcommittee of the Coastal Resources Management Council to deny its fee waiver request.
The matter was set to go before the full council for a final decision, but Deepwater said it would accept the subcommittee's decision as final and send in a check to cover the fee.
