The Department of Health shut down a Cranston dentist's office temporarily after inspectors found deficiencies in the infectious disease protocols at the dentist's office.
Inspectors went to Paul J. Matrullo, office on Park Avenue March 20 after receiving a complaint on the Health Department's complaint line. Inspectors cited 20 different protocols that the office failed to perform including not dating sterilized items that are used daily. Inspectors did not find any EPA-registered disinfecting products in he dentist's office.
The Health Department issued a compliance order after it determined the violations had been corrected and allowed Pertrullo's office to re-open. The Health Department will continue to perform random inspections.
