PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A group that grew to about 30 people waited for more than an hour for Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein to arrive at Local 121 on Washington Street for a joint appearance with 2nd Congressional District candidate Abel Collins.
Marie Schopac, of Charlestown, wearing a button that said "I (heart) pro-choice Girls" and and Deborah O'Leary, of Hopkinton, wearing a button that said: "Abel Collins, Rock the Boat" said they came because they didn't want to be like the people who "just sit home and take what the media feeds them," O'Leary said.
John Weaver, 55, of South Kingstown, who described himself as a "voter, a normal citizen" said third party candidates are important because they "broaden the conversation."
