PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- New Urban Arts is holding an open mike night Tuesday where students, teachers, parents, policymakers and others share their most powerful stories.
The event is also sponsored by the Highlander Institute, Providence After School Alliance and various Providence public schools.
There will be time for 12 to 15 storytellers to take the microphone to share personal stories in ways that humanize, connect, and inspire.
"Our aim is to capture personal stories that catalyze movement at every level around something we all care deeply about: powerful learning," the news release said.
The event runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
