So far, only one Rhode Islander has been named as a victim of the blasts.
The website Newport Buzz said Heather Abbott was with friends outside The Forum, a bar located at the finish line, when one of the bombs went off.
People posting on the site's Facebook page said Abbott had surgery Monday night. Abbott was reportedly being treated at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
The information could not be confirmed through official sources.
Meanwhile, the Lowell Sun and the Wall Street Journal were reporting that two of the injured were the sister-in-law and niece of Timothy Corcoran of Warwick. The blast, according to the Sun, shredded the legs of the niece, Sydney, 18, and her mother, Celeste, needed to have both legs amputated below the knee because of damage from the blast's shrapnel. The mother and daughter are from Lowell.
