BOSTON (AP) -- Gov. Deval Patrick has met with some of those injured in the bombings at the Boston Marathon including the parents of 8-year-old victim Martin Richard, who was killed.
Patrick said he knows the family and spent time speaking with them Wednesday.
Patrick said the parents feel shattered at the loss of their son. He said he hopes that they realize there is a lot of love and concern for them from the community and that they can find some strength in that.
Patrick said he visited three hospitals and also met with administrators and trauma teams who attended to injured, many of whom lost limbs.
He said he wanted to thank them personally and make sure they knew that the victims and their families were impressed with what they were able to accomplish immediately after the attack.
