PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have dropped nine cents over the last week, AAA Southern New England says.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.529 at self-service pumps in the Ocean State, according to AAA's weekly survey.
A similar survey by the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources Friday found the average price at $3.56.
According to AAA, the average price for regular unleaded has dropped 22 cents over the last month and is now one cent higher than the national average of $3.519.
At this time last year, Rhode Island drivers were paying 44 cents more per gallon, $3.969, AAA says.
AAA's survey found a 26-cent price range, from a low of $3.409 to a high of $3.669.
