SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Detectives in North Smithfield are investigating a stabbing early Sunday morning in the parking lot of a local bar.
Two people were hurt in the incident, which occurred in the parking lot of the Lower Level Bar at 175 Eddie Dowling Highway. The injuries were not life threatening, the police said.
The police learned of the stabbings at 1:45 a.m. when they received a call from Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket that one victim was being treated. The police subsequently learned that a second victim also was being treated at Landmark.
The police did not release any additional information about the victims, their medical condition or the circumstances surrounding the stabbings.
