PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Items once owned by former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling's failed video company are being sold to the public at the first of two auctions.
Computers, speaker systems and even a pool table that formerly belonged to Rhode Island-based 38 Studios are scheduled to hit the auction block Tuesday in Timonium, Md. The Maryland auction site is at the one-time headquarters of Big Huge Games, which 38 Studios acquired 2009.
A second auction is being held next week at the firm's former Providence headquarters. Rhode Island lured the company from Massachusetts with a $75 million loan guarantee in 2010.
38 Studios and its Maryland studio filed for bankruptcy in June.
The auctioneer says there's been a lot of interest in the auctions, but how much they'll bring in to help settle the company's debts is unknown.
