PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- President Barack Obama's task force on Superstorm Sandy will be touring the Rhode Island coast to see how communities have been recovering from last October's storm.
The state's congressional delegation and local officials will be hosting the task force's visit on Monday. The panel is identifying what is needed to improve public infrastructure systems that remain susceptible to storm damage.
The task force will be visiting South Kingstown and Westerly, including East Matunuck Beach and the Misquamicut area.
The panel has been reviewing recovery efforts in several storm-damaged states to coordinate and help with long-term rebuilding efforts.
