The Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council has started its summer paddling trips on the 19-mile river, which begins in North Smithfield and flows through Providence to Narragansett Bay.paddle.jpg

Led by Erik Talley, river guide for Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, the first trip in early July took paddlers from downtown Providence to Olneyville.

Open to all ages and skill levels, most of the watershed's guided paddles cost $20 if you use one of its boats, and $5 if you bring your own with safety accessories.

More information is available online at wrwc.org.
