Elizabeth Beisel, of North Kingstown, will compete in two events at the swimming world championships in Barcelona, Spain.
Beisel will compete in the 400-meter individual medley, the event in which she won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics, and in the 200-meter individual medley.
Preliminaries in the 200 IM are Sunday at 4 a.m. Eastern time, with the semifinals at noon Sunday and the finals at noon Monday.

This will be Beisel's fourth appearance in the worlds, which are held every odd-numbered year. She won gold in the 400 IM at the 2011 championships, in Shanghai.
