PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A defense lawyer described a web of contradictory testimony Friday afternoon in the closing arguments of the trial of Terrel Barros, 24, of New Bedford, accused of murdering Jamal Cruz, a 38-year-old father and professional counselor, and wounding another man outside outside the Monet Lounge last August.
The defense lawyer, Joseph Voccola, told the jury that prosecutors presented lots of testimony that simply doesn't add up, and also points to the actual killer of Cruz.
Voccola blamed the crime on someone else.
