PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Fire trucks blocked busy Atwells Avenue for a time Tuesday after a fire broke out in a second story apartment at 221-223 Atwells, near Dean Street.
No one was hurt, said Deputy Assistant Fire Chief Daniel J. Crowley. The fire, reported about 2:30 p.m. was brought under control in about 15 minutes.
Crowley said the cause was being investigated, but it did not appear to be suspicious.
The building houses Tina's Caribbean Restaurant, which Crowley said was not affected.
He said the occupant of the second-story apartment will have to find new quarters.
