PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The candidates for U.S. Senate and the 1st Congressional District seat will meet in live television debates Tuesday night -- at the same time.
Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democrat, and Republican Barry Hinckley will hold their first debate from 7 to 8 p.m. on WPRI-12. The debate, sponsored by Eyewitness News and The Providence Journal, will be broadcast live from the Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts at Rhode Island College.
Also from 7 to 8 p.m., Democrat Rep. David N. Cicilline and Republican Brendan Doherty will debate in the studios of ABC6 for a live broadcast.
Cicilline and Doherty will also debate Wednesday at 6 p.m. on WPRO-AM.
