PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The University of Rhode Island will seek approval from the State Properties Committee Tuesday to lease space in an Orms Street office building for the university's "Living Rite" program.
In June 2012, URI won a $14-million federal grant to develop a program coordinating the health care of adults with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
The three-year grant was one of 81 new Health Care Innovation Awards announced at that time. The grants are made possible by the federal health-care overhaul, the Affordable Care Act. The URI program, called " Living Rite," seeks to improve and coordinate health care for people with cognitive disabilities and multiple chronic illnesses who are covered by both Medicaid and Medicare.
URI wants to lease space in the Charles-Orms Professional Building at 10 Orms St. for the program.
