CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. -- Police have announced the arrest of a 19-year-old man in connection with a double homicide that was discovered on July 3 at a home at 16 Sylvian St.
Pedro Lopez was taken into custody by local detectives, the U.S. Marshals office and the State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force early Tuesday after they converged on a house at 122 Lincoln Ave.
He was ordered held without bail on two counts of first-degree murder pending another court appearance on Aug. 13.
Police said an autopsy showed the two victiims, Malcome Townes, 21, and Nathan Lewis, 22, died from from "sharp force" injuries.
They said information about a motive is not being released pending completion of an investigation by detectives.
