PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A contractor turned a few valves down and off Thursday morning to work on a main water pipe, and his actions caused several Silver Lake residents to have very little, if any, water pressure.
Providence Water General Manager Boyce Spinelli also said the problem has been corrected and the about 4,000 residents affected was sent a mass email or automated call about the incident.
Spinelli said residents should see a return to the water pressure soon, but it may be accompanied with temporary discoloration.
