Today in RI history: More medical waste washes up on RI beach

A year ago today:
With the Sept. 11 primary just five weeks away, the Secretary of State's Office is in the thick of an effort to provide identification cards to people who will need them to comply with Rhode Island's new voter-ID law.

5 years ago today:
Dominic DiFazio, who resigned from the Westerly School Committee on May 21 after pleading no contest to a domestic assault charge, is arrested on charges of violating a no-contact order and resisting arrest.

25 years ago today:
A few tubes and syringes are found at the eastern end of Roger Wheeler State Beach, the latest case of medical waste washing up on Rhode Island's shoreline. Lifeguards patrolling the beach discovered the debris.
