PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The state Department of Transportation will temporarily close Exit 14A (Route 37 East) off of Route 95 North on Sept. 4 as part of a construction project on Route 37 East in Warwick.

Motorists seeking access to Post Road in Warwick are advised to follow the detour via Exit 15 (Jefferson Boulevard), with a left onto Jefferson Boulevard, a right onto Route 95 South and then Exit 14A (Route 37 East). An alternate route is to take Exit 13 (the Airport Connector) to the Post Road exit.

The bridge rehabilitation project on Route 37 East will require extended lane closures. The right lane will be closed between Exit 4B (Route 95 North) and Exit 5A (Post Road) through early December. Extended closures of the center and left lanes will also be necessary as the project continues. Work is expected to be completed in April 2014.

Motorists with questions should contact the DOT's Customer Service office at 401-222-2450 weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.dot.ri.gov, the DOT Facebook page at www.facebook.com/RIDOTNews or subscribe to their Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/RIDOTNews.
