PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Three Providence men were indicted Tuesday by the Providence County grand jury on robbery, conspiracy and firearms charges resulting from an April 8 attack at the home of Michael Padilla, where Padilla and Jose Rosario were robbed at gunpoint, a news release from the attorney general's office reported Tuesday.
George Betters, 28, of 151 General St.; Stephano Castro, 22, of 3 Samoset Ave.; and Damon Schmitz, 26, of 31 Clym St., are scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 3 in Superior Court, Providence.
Betters faces additional charges related to possessing cocaine, resisting arrest and obstruction of a police officer. Castro was also charged with resisting arrest, and Schmitz faces a charge of possessing a firearm after having been convicted of a violent crime.
