PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A 36-year-old resident of the Elmwood neighborhood has been ordered held without bail following his arrest by a State Police task force Thursday on charges of possession of 300 grams of cocaine with the intent to deliver.
State Police Supt. Col. Steven O'Donnell said police arrested Harold Frets, of 84 Lexington Ave., after the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force executed a search warrant on his black Saturn Vue at 10 p.m. and found the cocaine in a hidden compartment.
District Court Judge William Clifton ordered Frets to be held at the Adult Correctional Institutions pending a bail hearing on Sept. 12.
The task force is managed by the State Police and includes police officers from Providence, Pawtucket, Johnston, Smithfield, Central Falls, North Providence, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
