PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The state Health Department has announced that all licensed beaches in Rhode Island are safe for swimming this weekend.
It made the announcement after recommending the re-opening of City Park and Conimicut Point beaches in Warwick and Scarborough State beach in Narragansett for swimming. It said bacteria levels at all three beaches have now been found to be within acceptable limits.
Health officials noted that beach status can change on a daily basis, and that up-to-date information can be found on the department's website, or calling (401) 222-2751.
