PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Police are investigating the stabbing of two young men and a juvenile in downtown Providence at about 2 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Allen Bello, 21, was at the corner of Washington and Union Streets when a fight broke out and he was stabbed several times, said Providence Police Major David A. Lapatin. Bello was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where police said he was in stable condition.
A 17-year-old juvenile was also stabbed during the incident and taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital, Lapatin said. No update of his condition was available, he said, but the injury was not life-threatening.
While police were at Rhode Island Hospital, Johenny Cabrera, 20, showed up with stab wounds, Lapatin said. Cabrera was in stable condition, he said, but was not cooperating so police could not determine where the stabbing occurred.
A spokeswoman for Lifespan media relations said Friday afternoon that the hospitals had no records of any patients by those names.
