Rain to continue Sunday and throughout Labor Day weekend

Picnic plans this Labor Day weekend? You may be dodging quite a few raindrops.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue Sunday and into Monday.

Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Sunday's forecast calls for it to be cloudy, with a high near 80. South wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

A flash flood warning remains in effect until 11 a.m. for Kent County.

Rainfall amounts expected are between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday night's forecast calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m,, with more scattered showers until about 1 a.m., when overnight thunderstorms are likely again. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

On Labor Day, showers and a possible a thunderstorm are likely, with the chance of precipitation at 60 percent.
