Ports closed to vessel traffic; state monitoring bridges

All ports in the Southeastern New England region, including Narragansett Bay and Mount Hope Bay, are closed to vessel traffic until further notice, Governor Chafee's office announced Sunday evening.

Also, the Rhode Island State Police will be monitoring sustained wind speeds on the major bridges to determine if and when temporary closures are necessary.
