PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown University sophomore Madeline Pesec, of Cleveland, was doing her best on Thayer Street on Sunday to hold up three hefty boxes stacked on a dolly. In the boxes were clothes, rugs, comforters and more.

For 10 or 11 hours Saturday, beginning at 7:30 a.m., she had been behind the wheel, driving with her parents to Brown.

She was among the droves of students, returning or for the first time, who have been arriving at Brown over the weekend on College Hill to move into residence halls or other housing.

"This is only our second time, but we're seeming to get the rhythm down" of preparing for and embarking to the university, her father, John Pesec, said. "We're almost done" unpacking.

Madeline Pesec's mother graduated from Brown, so returning to campus is a celebration of two sorts as well.
