BARRINGTON, R.I. -- Mathewson Road, one of the town's most exclusive waterfront neighborhoods is completely underwater.
By 7:30 p.m., the rising tide from the Barrington River had made the road disappear. The one-mile stretch from County Road to Ferry Lane is submerged in two-feet of water.
Just a few hours earlier, the rising tide of the Barrington River threatened to destroy The Boathouse, a historic structure on Mathewson Road.
