NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (AP) - A polling place in one Rhode Island town has been moved because of damage from superstorm Sandy.
The Secretary of State's office says Friday that the polling place planned for the North Beach Clubhouse in Narragansett has been moved to the Narragansett Community Center at 53 Mumford Rd.
A spokesman for Secretary of State Ralph Mollis says local officials decided to move the polling site out of concern about safety at the Clubhouse.
Narragansett experienced significant impact from the storm, which downed trees, knocked out power and damaged local roads.
The state's general election is Tuesday.
