PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Colin P. Kane, chairman of the commission charged with developing former Route 195 land in Providence, said Friday the panel will have to consider whether it retains as its legal counsel a lawyer and law firm named in the state's sweeping lawsuit in connection with the 38 Studios debacle.

Robert I. Stolzman and his law firm, Adler Pollock & Sheehan, have been working with a team of others to craft the next bond sale that's expected to fuel one of the state's most anticipated economic-development projects. Although Stolzman is the commission's legal counsel, he is not the lead lawyer drafting the bond documents, Kane said.

The commission is poised to consider at a Monday night meeting whether to participate in the sale of bonds worth up to $42 million, to be issued by the state's Economic Development Corporation.
