EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A RIPTA bus driver was arraigned on sexual assault charges Monday in District Court Providence after a woman told police that he had forced her to perform oral sex while on the bus.

The bus had let off passengers at the front of Shaw's Supermarket at 1050 Willet Ave. and the woman was the only one left on the bus, according to Capt. Richard Frazier of the East Providence police.

The woman, 41, said the man said sexually suggestive things to her, touched her inappropriately and then forced her to perform oral sex.

Ivan Calderon, 55, of 10 Priscilla Ave., Providence was charged with assault with intent to commit first degree sexual assault and second degress sexual assault. Bail was set at 25,000 with surety.
