WESTERLY, R.I. -- A beach cleanup of Napatree Point is planned for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, and volunteers who escaped harm from superstorm Sandy are needed to help remove trash left by a "considerable overwash," the Napatree naturalists said in an email.
Steve Hugh and Janice Sassi said a limited number of town trash bags will be provided but volunteers are asked to bring plastic grocery bags. The group will meet at the gate at the end of Fort Road.
If it rains Sunday, the cleanup will be Sunday.
