PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Deepwater Wind, the Providence company planning two wind farms off the Rhode Island coast, has a new chief executive officer.
Jeffrey Grybowski has been promoted to the top position from his previous job as the company's chief administrative officer.
Grybowski replaces William M. Moore who served as CEO from 2009. Moore will join the company's board of directors.
Grybowski has worked full time for Deepwater since 2010. He was chief of staff to former Governor Donald Carcieri from 2003 to 2007. After leaving state government, he became a partner at the law firm Hinckley, Allen & Snyder, where Deepwater was one of his clients.
Also, Paul Gaynor, CEO of First Wind, a developer of land-based wind farms that has invested in Deepwater, has been elected chairman of Deepwater's board of directors.
