PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Mary E. O'Rourke, a Warwick lawyer snared in a criminal ring that allegedly looted $10 million from the Navy through fictitious and inflated contracts, was arraigned Monday in U.S. District Court.
O'Rourke, through lawyer William Devereaux, entered "not guilty'' pleas to six felony charges: conspiracy, theft of government property, and four counts of wire fraud.
Magistrate Judge Lincoln D. Almond released her on $15,000 unsecured bond and set a tentative trial date for Oct. 15 before Chief Judge Mary M. Lisi.
Immediately following her appearance, Ralph Mariano and his elderly father, Ralph Mariano Jr., were arraigned on the same criminal charges they faced several months ago. They were returned to court because they were named in the same superseding indictment as O'Rourke.
