PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- When the Route 195 Redevelopment District Commission meets Monday at 5 p.m., the panel is expected to learn more about a potential transfer of 2,345 square feet of vacant land from the Rhode Island Department of Transportation to Brown University.
Although the commission's agenda lists a vote on the land transfer, Chairman Colin P. Kane said he doesn't expect the panel to cast a vote just yet. Kane said the parcel is a "tiny, tiny piece of dirt ... literally like a sliver of land."
Brown owns property next to the land, Kane said. Discussion about this parcel arose, Kane said, during a parcel-by-parcel review of the land currently owned by the DOT, which the 195 Commission is preparing to purchase.
