PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A 52-year-old Richmond man who is accused of receiving, possessing and distributing child pornography pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court, Providence.
In February, U.S. District Court Judge John J. McConnell Jr. could sentence Glen Matteson, a former Chariho High School assistant soccer coach, to a prison term that far exceeds the minimum mandatory sentence of 5 years, imprisoning the defendant for as long as 60 years, according to a spokesman for U.S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha;
Matteson was targeted in an investigation early in 2012 after authorities learned that the coach had sent sexually graphic text messages to one of the players on his high school soccer team.
