PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- In minutes, a jury found Timothy "Beeper" DeBritto guilty of repeatedly shooting his romantic rival in the back in the early morning May 20.
The jury convicted DeBritto, 26, of assault with a dangerous weapon, using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and carrying a pistol without a license.
Jurors heard Gary Ellerbe tell of growing suspicious that his girlfriend and mother of four of his children, LaToya Brisbon, was involved with DeBritto. She had been in a knock-down fight with DeBritto's girlfriend and the mother four of his children, Sylvia Morehead.
He was driving around 2 a.m. when he encountered DeBritto's Oldsmobile Cutlass on General Street. He asked to talk and looked DeBritto "eye-to-eye" before he shot at him 15 times, 9 that hit.
