Gasoline prices continued their two-month slide, falling another 2 cents a gallon.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in Rhode Island was $3.59 a gallon on Friday, according to a survey by the state's Office of Energy Resources.
The weekly survey reports that gasoline prices have fallen in 8 of the past 9 weeks. The average price was 40 cents lower Friday than its 52-week high of $3.99 a gallon on Sept. 14.
Rhode Island's average price is still well above the national average, which was $3.39 a gallon on Dec. 3, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
