PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The 6-year-old boy who was pulled from the water Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Woods State Park and pronounced dead at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence was identified Monday as Rafael DelMontes of Boston.
Authorities were awaiting the results of an autopsy to announce a cause of death. Those results were not expected until Tuesday at the earliest.
"We're not sure if it was a medical issue or a drowning," Gail Mastrati, spokeswoman for the Department of Environmental Management, said Sunday. "I was told there were some previous health issues that may indicate it was a previous medical issue."
