Adopt-A-Family, Woonsocket

Adopt-A-Family seeks volunteers to "adopt a child" and purchase clothing, toys and a stuffed stocking from that child's wish list. Donors wrap all gifts and deliver them to the donation center at the Elks Lodge, 380 Social St., Woonsocket, Dec 9-14 on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteers, especially those who speak Spanish, are needed to cover 4 hours shifts. BankRI's 15th annual Holiday Giving Tree Program

Capital City Community Centers' Adopt-A-Family Program

Cell Phones for Soldiers Drive

Southern Rhode Island Volunteers in collaboration with the Stop & Shop Supermarket in Richmond, People's Credit Union branches in Wakefield and North Kingstown and the Senior Community Center in Charlestown is conducting a used cell phone drive to support our military personnel this holiday season. Charlestown Democratic Committee/International Union of Operating Engineers Local 57

Cox Solutions Stores "Days of Giving" for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Customers can donate new, unwrapped toys to benefit a local Boys & Girls Club through Dec. 24 at Cox Solutions Stores located at 1224 North Main St., Providence; 400 Bald Hill Rd, Warwick; 35 South County Commons Way, South Kingstown, and 371 Putnam Pike, Smithfield.

DaVinci Center Adopt-a-Family Program

Elves for Elders

Seniors RULE, a nonprofit which provides services for seniors, has placed a giving tree at Warwick Mall. Customers may take a star with the name of a senior who attends an adult day center or who resides in a nursing home or senior housing; purchase a gift, and return it unwrapped to the customer service desk by Dec. 12 so that it may be wrapped and delivered.

Executives Association of RI/Project Undercover

The state's oldest business leads group seeks individuals and companies for monetary and gift card donations as well as children's underclothing, diapers, scarves, hats and gloves for Project Undercover. Oceanstate Financial Services/Big Brothers Big Sisters Toy Drive

Donations of new, unwrapped books, board games, educational toys, dolls and action figures, craft supplies, Legos, building blocks or large puzzles can be dropped of at Oceanstate Financial Services, 401 Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, beween 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. through Dec. 12. The first 100 donors will receive a $10 gift certificate to Chardonnay's or Meritage.

Rhode Island Center Assisting Those in Need

This emergency outreach community organization seeks nonperishable food items, grocery gift cards and monetary donations for neighbors in crisis during the holidays and throughout the year. Rhode Island Community Food Bank Holiday Meal Drive Open House

The food bank will hold an open house Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at its offices, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence. Bring donations, tour of the facility and meet Miss Rhode Island and Miss Teen Rhode Island.

The RI Family Shelter

US Family Health Plan/Operation Tribute Toy Drive

Donations of new, unwrapped books or toys, valued at $10-$25, can be dropped off at the Anchor Medical Clinics in Providence, Lincoln and Warwick by Dec. 13. US Family Health Plan representatives will also be available Dec. 13 at the Quonset ANG Dining Facility in North Kingstown from 10 a.m. to noon and the Providence Marriott from 2 to 6 p.m. to collect donations for the children of military families.

Stockings for Seniors

WHERE TO GO FOR HELP

Feed 1,000 Rhode Islanders

This developing nonprofit organization, founded by the owners of Priorty Management Group and sponsored by several local organizations, will provide a free holiday meal to more than 1,000 individuals in need at the Rhode Island Convention Center Dec. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. In addition to the full-course holiday meal, there will be gift bags for those who attend. Those interested in donating supplies or volunteering on the day of the event should visit feed1000.org.

Pawtucket Soup Kitchen Christmas Dinner

The soup kitchen, located in the basement, 195 Walcott St., Pawtucket, will serve a free dinner to those in need Christmas Eve from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and Christmas Day brunch from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Keep the Heat On

Catholic Bishop Thomas J. Tobin's "Keep the Heat On" is a program of last resort for those who have exhausted all options and have no place left to turn for heating assistance. Providence Rescue Mission Coat and Food Drive

Union Federal Savings Bank of North Providence and Realty Associates of Cranston are co-sponsoring a Coat and Food Drive to benefit the Providence Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter. Rhode Island Good Neighbor Energy Fund

This fund is a cooperative effort between the state's energy utilities, Rhode Islanders and The Salvation Army to help those in temporary crisis who do not qualify for federal or state assistance with payment of their energy bills. Checks made payable to Good Neighbor can be sent to The Salvation Army, 1515 Elmwood Ave., Cranston, RI 02910.
