PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The state Parole Board decided Monday that Alfred Brissette, who has served 13 years out of a 35-year prison term for murder, will not be paroled this month, with the panel deciding to gather more in-depth information about his parole plan.
The board said in a statement that it will revisit the issue of Brissettee's parole in January.
In June this year, the board had scheduled Brissette for parole in December.
"Following the Parole Board's June, 2012, decision regarding inmate Alfred Brissette, Jr., new information has emerged concerning Mr. Brissette's ability to satisfy the Board's release criteria at this time; this information was not available at the June 2012 hearing," says the statement issued Monday.
The board's meeting was closed to the public.
Correction: Brissette's first name was incorrect in a previous post.
