Culpo, the last semifinalist announced, advanced based on preliminary results in swimsuit, evening gown and interview portions of the pageant.
Culpo's Miss Universe roommate, Miss Australia, as well as Miss Venezuela, Miss Poland and Miss India, are among the other women still in the competition.
The winner, who will replace current titleholder Leila Lopes, of Angola, is expected to be announced around 10 tonight. The competition is currently airing live on NBC (Channel 10).
This year's Miss Universe judges include celebrity stylist Brad Goreski, Olympic volleyball gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, "Iron Chef" Masaharu Morimoto and fashion photographer (and "America's Next Top Model" judge) Nigel Barker.
