PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Olivia Culpo isn't the only Rhode Island beauty queen looking for support online. Rhode Island College graduate Kelsey Fournier, Miss Rhode Island in the upcoming Miss America pageant, is looking for votes that will select one finalist.
The 23-year-old Pawtucket native, a health-education major who made the RIC dean's list for four years, had never entered a pageant before her winning effort in May -- the same month she graduated cum laude and was named a Presidential Scholar.
The Miss America online contest has a limit of one vote per person via any Web-enabled device. Voting, at missamerica.org, closes at 11:59 p.m. PST on Jan. 10. The Miss America Pageant will be aired at 9 p.m. Jan. 12 on ABC.
