BOSTON -- The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating how a 65-foot fishing vessel ran aground north of the Brenton Point State Park Sunday evening.
The U.S. Coast Guard said Monday that it was still working with federal, state and local port officials to assess the Five J's vessel, which had lost power. The vessel's operator told the Coast Guard that the anchor was unable to hold.
The vessel, which can hold up to 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel, ran aground at 6 p.m. on Sunday. It wasn't known Monday afternoon how much fuel was on board.
