PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The teenagers planned to wait hours in line for Sunday's release of the new $350 Nike Air Jordan Golden Moments sneakers.
And the wrong kind of people knew it.
Just before 6 a.m. -- five hours before the EbLens store in Olneyville opened -- two carloads of men stopped by the line of customers.
The men casually mixed in, and then one man gestured that he had a gun and ordered the customers to "run your pockets," according to the police.
The robbers stole $1,200, plus wallets, cell phones, a laptop, and even beat up a teenage boy and yanked a pair of Air Jordans off his feet.
The police are pursuing leads in the robbery, and discussing security for future Air Jordans releases.
