PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence police are searching for three men who broke into a house in Elmhurst, tied up the resident, and robbed him early Tuesday.
Berndt Anderson, 63, was awakened around midnight by a man rummaging in his bedroom at 130 Arbor Drive, according to a police report. Anderson told police that he chased the man out, but was confronted by two other men in the house -- one who appeared to have a gun.
The men tied him with an electrical cord and black tape, and stole money, his cell phone, a TV, and his 2011 Toyota Rav4.
After the men left, Anderson broke his restraints and called police, said Detective Charles Boranian.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Boranian, (401) 243-6322.
