PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- We're off to another cold start -- just 9 degrees in Providence at 7 a.m. -- but the temperature will become more bearable by mid-afternoon.
Before the warmup, the wind chill could make it feel like 16 degrees below zero in parts of Rhode Island.
The afternoon high should reach 25 degrees under increasing clouds. There's a chance of snow after 8 p.m, according to our weather partners at WPRI. A dusting to 2 inches of snow is possible tonight, with the most toward the coast. The temperature will drop to about 14 degrees.
Saturday should turn partly sunny with a high in the mid 20s.
Sunday looks mostly sunny with a high in the mid to upper 20s.
