PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A Rhode Island judge has suspended the driver's license of a lawyer who specializes in drunken driving cases after she was charged with DUI for the second time in a year.
WJAR-TV reports that a Traffic Tribunal judge suspended Layne Savage's license on Thursday pending the outcome of a hearing scheduled for next month.
East Providence police say they arrested the 32-year-old Providence-based attorney on Jan. 13 after she crashed her SUV into a parked car. She's also charged with refusing to submit to an alcohol test.
Savage was also charged with DUI by Barrington police last March. The charge was dismissed because the arresting officer didn't see the erratic driving by Savage that was reported by witnesses, but she was convicted of refusing a breath test.
